Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Bearded Man, Looking Up by Simon Vouet was sold in the Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 78,878.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Simon Vouet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madonna and Child in May last year with an auction result of USD 504,000.00 (€ 469,667.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Bearded Man, Looking Up von Simon Vouet wurde im Januar 2020 in der Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 78.878,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon Vouet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Madonna and Child im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 504.000,00 (€ 469.667,32).
