A top price for Simon Vouet - as previously expected
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work Madonna and Child by Simon Vouet. The price achieved of USD 504,000.00 (€ 469,667.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Madonna and Child is the most expensive artwork by Simon Vouet that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Madonna and Child von Simon Vouet zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 504.000,00 (€ 469.667,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Madonna and Child das teuerste Kunstwerk von Simon Vouet, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
