Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Pair Of Pastoral Roman Landscapes With A Shepherd Boy And A Shepherd Girl by Simon van der Does was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in February 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,809.71) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon van der Does - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A shepherdess and her son in a landscape; and A young shepherd and shepherdess reading a letter in a landscape, which sold at auction in April 2005 for GBP 26,400.00 (€ 39,075.84).

Die Arbeit A Pair Of Pastoral Roman Landscapes With A Shepherd Boy And A Shepherd Girl von Simon van der Does wurde im Februar 2008 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.809,71) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00.
