This artwork by Simon van der Does achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2014. In the The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part II. Dutch and Flemish Drawings from 1500-1900 auction, the work Five Studies Of The Head Of A Sheep sold for EUR 3,250.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon van der Does achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A shepherdess and her son in a landscape; and A young shepherd and shepherdess reading a letter in a landscape in April 2005 with an auction result of GBP 26,400.00 (€ 39,075.84).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Simon van der Does erzielte im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part II. Dutch and Flemish Drawings from 1500-1900 wurde die Arbeit Five Studies Of The Head Of A Sheep für EUR 3.250,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Simon van der Does erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A shepherdess and her son in a landscape; and A young shepherd and shepherdess reading a letter in a landscape im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.400,00 (€ 39.075,84).
