Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Moydrum Castle, County Westmeath, Ireland, C. 1975 Dunnottar Castle, Kincardineshire, Scotland, C. 1975 by Simon Marsden was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,419.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Marsden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Coolbawn House, Co. Wexford, Ca. 1975 Gothic Window, Castle Bernard, Co. Cork, Ca. 1975 Milton Lockhart House, Lanarkshire, Scotland, Ca. 1978 Plas Pren, Denbighshire, Wales, Ca. 1978, which sold at auction in April 2014 for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,325.39).
