Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work The Hull Of A Warship by Simon de Vlieger was worth GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,455.81) to a buyer in July 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 600.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon de Vlieger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 1,553,250.00 (€ 1,782,586.75).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.553.250,00 (€ 1.782.586,75).
