This artwork by Simon de Vlieger achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. In the Old Masters auction, the work A beach scene with fishermen displaying their catch sold for USD 201,600.00 (€ 189,224.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Simon de Vlieger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 1,553,250.00 (€ 1,782,586.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Simon de Vlieger erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters wurde die Arbeit A beach scene with fishermen displaying their catch für USD 201.600,00 (€ 189.224,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon de Vlieger auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.553.250,00 (€ 1.782.586,75).
