Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Simon de Vlieger could be acquired at Christies in New York in June last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters auction, the work A Beach Scene With Fishermen Displaying Their Catch changed hands for USD 75,000.00 (€ 71,640.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon de Vlieger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 1,553,250.00 (€ 1,782,586.75).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
