Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view of the coast near Egmond, with fishing boats returning from the catch and a busy fish market at the foot of a dune by Simon de Vlieger was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2015. The price achieved of EUR 73,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon de Vlieger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 1,553,250.00 (€ 1,782,586.75).

Die Arbeit A view of the coast near Egmond, with fishing boats returning from the catch and a busy fish market at the foot of a dune von Simon de Vlieger kam im Juni 2015 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 73.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Simon de Vlieger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.553.250,00 (€ 1.782.586,75).
