Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A track in a wooded hilly landscape by Simon de Vlieger was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,970.54). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon de Vlieger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 1,553,250.00 (€ 1,782,586.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A track in a wooded hilly landscape von Simon de Vlieger im Juli 2016 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.970,54) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Simon de Vlieger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.553.250,00 (€ 1.782.586,75).
