Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work A Calm Estuary At Dawn With A Dutch Kaag by Simon de Vlieger for USD 490,000.00 (€ 438,989.43). This price was achieved in the auction The Weldon Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Simon de Vlieger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 1,553,250.00 (€ 1,782,586.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Calm Estuary At Dawn With A Dutch Kaag von Simon de Vlieger für USD 490.000,00 (€ 438.989,43) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Weldon Collection bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon de Vlieger auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dutch frigates exchanging salutes in a calm, with yachts, a rowing boat, a sloop carrying personnel, and fishermen on the shore im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.553.250,00 (€ 1.782.586,75).
