Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Surrealism and Its Legacy, which included this untitled work by Simon Hantaï. The price achieved of EUR 352,800.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon Hantaï achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work M.A.4 (Mariale) in December 2016 with an auction result of EUR 4,432,500.00.
