Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Parties by Simon Garrow was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 176.25 (€ 230.37). Admittedly, works by Simon Garrow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pot Plant in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 690.00 (€ 1,147.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Parties von Simon Garrow im Juli 2003 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 176,25 (€ 230,37) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon Garrow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pot Plant im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 690,00 (€ 1.147,50).
