Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The cricket match by Simon Garrow was auctioned at Christies in London in August 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 688.00 (€ 944.23). Other works by Simon Garrow have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2000 by the work Pot Plant at GBP 690.00 (€ 1,147.50).
