Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work The Adoration of the Magi by Simon de Vos. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 38,617.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Simon de Vos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Convival Card Game in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 288,000.00 (€ 221,572.55).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Adoration of the Magi von Simon de Vos zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 38.617,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon de Vos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Convival Card Game im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 288.000,00 (€ 221.572,55).
