This artwork by Simon de Vos achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2014. In the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work The Lamentation sold for GBP 26,250.00 (€ 33,109.50) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Simon de Vos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Convival Card Game in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 288,000.00 (€ 221,572.55).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Simon de Vos erzielte im Juli 2014 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale wurde die Arbeit The Lamentation für GBP 26.250,00 (€ 33.109,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon de Vos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Convival Card Game im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 288.000,00 (€ 221.572,55).
