Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Toto Shiba Atagoyama embo Shinagawa umi (Far view of sea at Shinagawa from Shiba Atagoyama in the eastern capital) by Shôtei Hokuju was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2003. The price achieved of USD 4,182.50 (€ 3,837.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,500.00 – 4,500.00. Admittedly, works by Shôtei Hokuju have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ôban, yoko-e in December 2017 with an auction result of EUR 18,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Toto Shiba Atagoyama embo Shinagawa umi (Far view of sea at Shinagawa from Shiba Atagoyama in the eastern capital) von Shôtei Hokuju kam im März 2003 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.182,50 (€ 3.837,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.500,00 – 4.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shôtei Hokuju auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ôban, yoko-e im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 18.600,00.
