Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work San'enzan Zōjōji zu (Mount San'enzan Zōjōji Temple) by Shôtei Hokuju was worth USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,209.16) to a buyer in March this year. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Japanese and Korean Works of Art at Bonhams and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shôtei Hokuju - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ôban, yoko-e, which sold at auction in December 2017 for EUR 18,600.00.
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit San'enzan Zōjōji zu (Mount San'enzan Zōjōji Temple) von Shôtei Hokuju war einem Käufer im März diesen Jahres USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.209,16) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Works of Art bei Bonhams erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Shôtei Hokuju mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ôban, yoko-e beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für EUR 18.600,00 versteigert wurde.
