Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Shio Kusaka was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,117.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shio Kusaka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work (Line 65) in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,694.14).
