Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Presentation by Shim Moon-Seup was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 350,000.00 – 550,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 27,390.86). Other works by Shim Moon-Seup have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2019 by the work The Presentation at HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,741.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Presentation von Shim Moon-Seup im Juli 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 350.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 27.390,86) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Shim Moon-Seup wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2019 die Arbeit The Presentation mit HKD 437.500,00 (€ 50.741,90).
