Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sherrie Levine could be acquired at Christies in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Crystal Skull changed hands for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,551.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 45,000.00 – 55,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sherrie Levine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 778,469.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sherrie Levine konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wechselte die Arbeit Crystal Skull für USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.551,43) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 45.000,00 – 55.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sherrie Levine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 962.500,00 (€ 778.469,75).
