Sold at the upper estimate price
In May 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Snow Mountain by Sheng Maoye. The auction ended at the price of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 20,834.68), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sheng Maoye - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saying Farewell In The Moonlight, which sold at auction in September 2016 for USD 75,000.00 (€ 66,737.85).
