This artwork by Sheng Maoye achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2015. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Enjoying Moonlight In A Garden sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 17,456.48) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sheng Maoye - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saying Farewell In The Moonlight, which sold at auction in September 2016 for USD 75,000.00 (€ 66,737.85).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sheng Maoye erzielte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Enjoying Moonlight In A Garden für USD 18.750,00 (€ 17.456,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sheng Maoye mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Saying Farewell In The Moonlight beobachtet, die im September 2016 für USD 75.000,00 (€ 66.737,85) versteigert wurde.
