This artwork by Sheng Maoye achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2013. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal auction, the work Landscape Of Pipa Journey sold for USD 40,000.00 (€ 29,553.01) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sheng Maoye - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saying Farewell In The Moonlight, which sold at auction in September 2016 for USD 75,000.00 (€ 66,737.85).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sheng Maoye erzielte im September 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal wurde die Arbeit Landscape Of Pipa Journey für USD 40.000,00 (€ 29.553,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sheng Maoye mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Saying Farewell In The Moonlight beobachtet, die im September 2016 für USD 75.000,00 (€ 66.737,85) versteigert wurde.
