In May 2007 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Landscape by Sheng Maoye. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 144,000.00 (€ 13,711.74), 44% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sheng Maoye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saying Farewell In The Moonlight in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 66,737.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 44 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Sheng Maoye zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 144.000,00 (€ 13.711,74) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sheng Maoye auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saying Farewell In The Moonlight im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 66.737,85).
