A top price for Shen Yaochu
When the work Auspicious Chickens by Shen Yaochu was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2013, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 100,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 375,000.00 (€ 35,585.55). This high result makes Auspicious Chickens the most expensive artwork by Shen Yaochu that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Shen Yaochu
Als die Arbeit Auspicious Chickens von Shen Yaochu im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 100.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 375.000,00 (€ 35.585,55) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Auspicious Chickens zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Shen Yaochu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
