In November 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work BEING LOYAL TO CHAIRMAN MAO by Shen Hanwu. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 275,000.00 (€ 33,510.59), 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Shen Hanwu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Descendants Of The Dragon in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 1,480,000.00 (€ 137,649.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit BEING LOYAL TO CHAIRMAN MAO von Shen Hanwu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 33.510,59) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shen Hanwu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Descendants Of The Dragon im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.480.000,00 (€ 137.649,60).
