Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work At The Water'S Edge by Shen Hanwu was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 237,500.00 (€ 27,448.04). Admittedly, works by Shen Hanwu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Descendants Of The Dragon in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 1,480,000.00 (€ 137,649.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit At The Water'S Edge von Shen Hanwu im April 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 237.500,00 (€ 27.448,04) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shen Hanwu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Descendants Of The Dragon im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.480.000,00 (€ 137.649,60).
