Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cumbrian Landscape by Sheila Fell was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,779.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sheila Fell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Haystacks in Winter, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 37,750.00 (€ 42,141.74).
