This artwork by Sheila Fell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in September 2021. In the Blazing a TrailModern British Women auction, the work Mechi Farm, Cumberland II sold for GBP 35,250.00 (€ 41,013.86) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sheila Fell; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Haystacks in Winter sold at auction in November 2020 with the realized price of GBP 37,750.00 (€ 42,141.74).
