Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Various Cakes by Sharon Core was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in April 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,507.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sharon Core have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bakery Counter, 1962 in April 2016 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 76,479.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Various Cakes von Sharon Core wurde im April 2019 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.507,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sharon Core auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bakery Counter, 1962 im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 76.479,33).
