This price was achieved in the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas at China Guardian in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 5,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shang Chengzuo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Clerical/Seal Script, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 230,000.00 (€ 26,581.26).

Die Arbeit Eight-Character Couplet In Seal Script von Shang Chengzuo war einem Käufer im November 2016 HKD 59.000,00 (€ 7.189,54) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas bei China Guardian in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 5.000,00 um ein Vielfaches.
