This artwork by Shang Chengzuo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy Couplet In Zhuanshu sold for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,286.19) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shang Chengzuo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Clerical/Seal Script in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 230,000.00 (€ 26,581.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shang Chengzuo erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Zhuanshu für HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.286,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shang Chengzuo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Clerical/Seal Script im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 230.000,00 (€ 26.581,26).
