Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Twins, 1956-1957 by Seydou Keïta was auctioned at Christies in London in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,861.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Seydou Keïta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans titre (L'Odalisque) - 1956-1957 in December 2018 with an auction result of EUR 63,700.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Twins, 1956-1957 von Seydou Keïta im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.024,00 (€ 2.861,47) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Seydou Keïta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans titre (L'Odalisque) - 1956-1957 im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 63.700,00.
