Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Artcurial in Marrakech held the auction African Contemporary Art, Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Sans Titre (Couple), 1949-51, Tirage De 2000 by Seydou Keïta. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of MAD 44,000.00 – 66,000.00, the actual price achieved of MAD 49,400.00 (€ 4,670.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Seydou Keïta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans titre (L'Odalisque) - 1956-1957 in December 2018 with an auction result of EUR 63,700.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Artcurial in Marrakesch die Auktion African Contemporary Art, Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sans Titre (Couple), 1949-51, Tirage De 2000 von Seydou Keïta zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von MAD 44.000,00 – 66.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von MAD 49.400,00 (€ 4.670,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Seydou Keïta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans titre (L'Odalisque) - 1956-1957 im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 63.700,00.
