Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Including the Bar-Gera Collection of Soviet Non-Conformist Art, which included the work Moscow by Sergei Shablavin. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,648.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sergei Shablavin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Russian Winter, 1981, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 67,000.00 (€ 43,037.00).
