Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Including the Bar-Gera Collection of Soviet Non-Conformist Art, which included the work Intersection From The Structure Of Circle Series by Sergei Shablavin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,536.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sergei Shablavin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Russian Winter, 1981, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 67,000.00 (€ 43,037.00).
