Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work In Front Of The Miracle-Working Icon by Sergei Arsenievich Vinogradov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 52,500.00 (€ 71,292.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sergei Arsenievich Vinogradov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of The Pechera Monastery in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 513,300.00 (€ 718,752.80).
