In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection, which included the work 48 Attitudes Related To Closed Spaces by Serge Spitzer. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,840.91), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Serge Spitzer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work About Sculpture (4-teilig) in September 2015 with an auction result of EUR 14,875.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit 48 Attitudes Related To Closed Spaces von Serge Spitzer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.840,91) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Serge Spitzer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit About Sculpture (4-teilig) im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 14.875,00.
