Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Farewell by Semyon Faibisovich was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,359.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Semyon Faibisovich achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work One More Glance at the Black Sea in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 340,200.00 (€ 405,787.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Farewell von Semyon Faibisovich im Juni 2014 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 34.359,93) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Semyon Faibisovich erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit One More Glance at the Black Sea im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 340.200,00 (€ 405.787,24).
