Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Houses on the Belvedere Lagoon by Selden Connor Gile was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,475.00 (€ 10,394.02). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Selden Connor Gile achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Quiet Cove (Belvedere) in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 312,575.00 (€ 279,059.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Houses on the Belvedere Lagoon von Selden Connor Gile im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.475,00 (€ 10.394,02) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Selden Connor Gile erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Quiet Cove (Belvedere) im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 312.575,00 (€ 279.059,91).
