A top price for Sebastian Vrancx - as previously expected
The work The Four Seasons by Sebastian Vrancx was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2015. The price achieved of GBP 1,650,500.00 (€ 2,339,854.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,400,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Four Seasons is the most expensive artwork by Sebastian Vrancx that we have observed at auctions so far.
