Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sebastian Vrancx achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. In the Master Paintings auction, the work The Plundering Of The Village Of Wommelgem sold for USD 325,000.00 (€ 291,505.96) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sebastian Vrancx have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Four Seasons in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 1,650,500.00 (€ 2,339,854.64).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sebastian Vrancx erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit The Plundering Of The Village Of Wommelgem für USD 325.000,00 (€ 291.505,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sebastian Vrancx auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Four Seasons im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.650.500,00 (€ 2.339.854,64).
