The work East Coast Fishermen by Seah Kim Joo was sold in the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. It achieved a price of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 10,113.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 59%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Seah Kim Joo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Boat Quay (Cityscape) sold at auction in October 2017 with the realized price of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 12,381.95).

Die Arbeit East Coast Fishermen von Seah Kim Joo wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 10.113,38) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 59%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Seah Kim Joo; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Boat Quay (Cityscape) im Oktober 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 12.381,95).
