Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Children by Seah Kim Joo was sold in the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art Online auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in October 2021. The price achieved of HKD 20,400.00 (€ 2,269.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 10,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Seah Kim Joo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boat Quay (Cityscape) in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 12,381.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Children von Seah Kim Joo wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art Online bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 20.400,00 (€ 2.269,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 10.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Seah Kim Joo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boat Quay (Cityscape) im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 12.381,95).
