Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boats by Seah Kim Joo was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in December 2019. It changed hands for a price of HKD 11,250.00 (€ 1,286.63) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Seah Kim Joo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boat Quay (Cityscape) in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 12,381.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Boats von Seah Kim Joo kam im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 11.250,00 (€ 1.286,63) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Seah Kim Joo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boat Quay (Cityscape) im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 12.381,95).
