Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (LOL Alternatives) by Scott Reeder was auctioned at Phillips in New York in February 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,606.50). Admittedly, works by Scott Reeder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Pasta Painting) in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 19,797.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (LOL Alternatives) von Scott Reeder im Februar 2018 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.606,50) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Scott Reeder auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Pasta Painting) im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 19.797,28).
