Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Scott Kahn achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. In the 21st Century Art Day Sale auction, the work New Moon sold for HKD 3,024,000.00 (€ 362,459.92) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Scott Kahn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work BIG HOUSE, HOMAGE TO AMERICA, which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 11,250,000.00 (€ 1,335,616.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Scott Kahn erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit New Moon für HKD 3.024.000,00 (€ 362.459,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Scott Kahn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit BIG HOUSE, HOMAGE TO AMERICA beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für HKD 11.250.000,00 (€ 1.335.616,44) versteigert wurde.
