Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Living with Art, which included the work A Black and White English Springer Spaniel in a Landscape by Sawrey Gilpin. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,683.63), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sawrey Gilpin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hawking in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 84,500.00 (€ 118,321.86).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Living with Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Black and White English Springer Spaniel in a Landscape von Sawrey Gilpin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.683,63) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sawrey Gilpin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hawking im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.500,00 (€ 118.321,86).
