The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 80,500.00 (€ 91,985.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Sawrey Gilpin have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2007 the work Hawking was auctioned for GBP 84,500.00 (€ 118,321.86).
